Corvin Castle also known as Hunyadi Castle or Hunedoara Castle is located in Hunedoara, Romania. Like many of its kin, the construction of Corvin started during the 14th century, as a fortress with stone walls up to 2 meters wide.
During the 15th century changes were made progressing it from a fortress to a castle, adding additional walls around the original fortress, circular and rectangular towers. The first towers were an innovation for military architecture of Transylvania in the 15th century.
The castle is regarded as one of the 7 wonders of Romania, and one of the largest castles in Europe. Considered Gothic-Renaissance style it features include many iconic castle elements such as a draw bridge, yard, well, defense towers multiple dinning halls, a prison, military defense rooms as well as living quarters.
